The 2019 College Football season is just a few months away. Before our second season of Clutch! football season begins, we want to take a moment to highlight one of our 2018 Auburn sellers, Matt Evans!
Matt is a leader at Orange Development Company and sells gameday parking at one of its properties. What made Matt’s listing stand out? He offered golf cart shuttle rides from his spot to Jordan-Hare Stadium. Read his Q&A below to hear more about his experience as a Clutch! seller!
Q: What made your company an ideal spot for Clutch!?
A: After attending Auburn football games in the past, we quickly found there was a shortage of convenient, paved parking in Auburn on gamedays. When we started up the Heart of Auburn we realized that with our proximity to campus we had the perfect place to park cars on game days. We tried it for the first game of the 2016 season and quickly sold out and knew then we needed to focus on this every Saturday that we could.
Q: What made you want to become a Clutch! seller and how did you become one?
A: During the 2017 season we always had a great turn out and filled up our lots every week but needed a way to spread the word that our lot was available instead of relying on customers who just happened to drive by our site. Before the 2018 season, we came in contact with Clutch! and were able to sell most of our parking spots in the days/weeks leading up to gamedays which helped us get an idea of demand and reduced the number of stalls we needed to fill on gameday. Every parking stall sold on Clutch! is one less stall we have to focus on filling on gameday, reducing the time spent and manpower it takes to run the lots.
Q: Describe your experience with Clutch! this football season.
A: We had a great experience with Clutch! during the season last year. Using the app was very easy not only for the customers parking but for us as well. With multiple cars coming into the lot at once it is critical we spend as little time as possible getting people paid/parked and using Clutch! reduced that time tremendously. Having already paid through the app, there is no cash exchanging hands and made the process of getting them parked and on their way to the game easy. One simple scan of the barcode and the customer is parked and on their way.
Q: Tell us about the parking you listed through the app. What made it successful? Did you offer any additional amenities or services aside from parking spots?
A: For the 2018 season we began using Golf Carts to transport people from our parking lot to the Stadium. Being less than half a mile from Jordan-Hare Stadium, we are already one of the closest lots to the stadium. But many of our customers get to Auburn very early to Tailgate and had to carry all food/drinks/coolers to the tailgate area so we thought of ways to create a better experience for them. Golf carts were the perfect solution. From the time they pulled into our lot, they were scanned in, loaded up the golf cart and on to the tailgating area in less than 5 minutes. Being able to list these amenities in the Clutch! app really helped bring customers our way as the season progressed.
Q: Would you recommend Clutch! to others? Why?
A: Definitely, in fact we have been doing so all summer to spread the word for the upcoming 2019 season. We will be back with the same great location at the Heart of Auburn surrounded by great restaurants on site (Taziki’s, BurgerFi, Uncle Maddios, Newks) and Shops (Mountain High, Alumni Hall and CVS) along with the peace of mind of knowing you are parking in a safe lot with security guards/surveillance. Once again, we will have the Golf Carts for ease of access to the stadium/tailgating area. If you use the app, it can eliminate the stress associated with finding the perfect parking stall on gamedays.
